General Contractor
LCS self-performs critical construction trades for new construction, renovation, or build-out of existing laboratory and technical spaces. Our Self-Perform Group (SPG) brings years of laboratory experience to deliver a “turnkey” solution for a variety of lab projects and budgets.
Self-Perform Plumbing
(including medical and industrial gases and corrosive waste)
- Underground and overhead plumbing utilities
- Sanitary/Industrial/Acid Waste Systems – including Fuseal® Corrosive Waste Systems
- Laboratory Gas Delivery Systems including Medical/High Purity Gas Delivery Systems, and Automated Switchover Manifolds
- Ultra-Pure, Deionized, and Reverse Osmosis Water Systems
- Vacuum and Compressed Air Systems
- Procurement and installation of laboratory fixtures such as air, gases, vacuum, hot/cold water, safety showers, and eye wash stations
Self-Perform Exhaust and Mechanical Services
- Installation of fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, and exhaust systems
- Seismic anchoring of all hoods to walls and floors
- Replacement of fume hood exhaust fans and ducting including service fixtures such as air, gas, vacuum, water, and remote service valves
- Installation and design of custom ventilation enclosures such as canopy hoods and exhaust snorkels (both fixed or extractor arm)
- Installation of corrosive-resistant exhaust systems (PVC, stainless steel, epoxy, and PVC galvanized)
Self-Perform General Construction Services
- Turnkey laboratory renovations and relocations
- Procurement and installation of laboratory casework, countertops, and workstations
- Laboratory flooring finishes such as epoxy, welded sheet vinyl, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and VCT tile
- Laboratory grade ceiling system with Vinylrock cleanable ceiling tiles
- Laboratory wall finishes
Self-Perform Fume Hood Installation and Maintenance Services
- Procurement and installation of fume hoods (Bench-top, Floor-mounted, Double-Faced, and Portable Fume Hoods) for exited, ducted, and recirculating (ductless)
- Testing for Fume Hood Face Velocity (ASHRAE 110 Method) for face velocity measurement, air-flow visualization, and tracer gas containment
- Fume Hood Exterior Hood and Sash Inspections
- Fume Hood Inspection for Plumbing and Electrical Services
- Inspection washdown systems for the proper function of the fume hood protection program
- Quarterly
- Semi-Annually
- Annually (as required by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act))
Exhaust Fan Maintenance and Repair
- Inspect and Replace Fan Belt (if required)
- Lubricate Bearing Assemblies
- Adjust Variable Sheaves
- Inspect Specialty Ventilation Systems
Modular Cleanroom Installation
LCS provides turnkey installation and relocation of modular cleanrooms. We can install a variety of modular cleanroom configurations and classifications to meet certain cleanliness standards (International Standards Organization (ISO) 5, ISO 6, ISO 7, ISO 8, and USP compounding rooms). In certain locations, LCS can provide utility connections from building services to cleanrooms.
